Biography: Originally from Kazakhstan, pianist Janara Khassenova is a graduate of the Moscow State Conservatory where she completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies. While in United States, she completed an Artist Diploma Program in Chamber Music from the Longy School of Music. She has performed as a soloist and with chamber ensembles and orchestras in countries of the former Soviet Union, Italy, Greece as well as United States. Janara collaborates frequently with various musicians in a variety of projects and regularly performs in a piano 4-hand duo with pianist Ellina Blinder. In addition to the Bard Preparatory Division, Janara currently teaches piano at her studio in New York City, where she resides.
