Students in the Bard Archaeology Field School,
a hands-on summer learning program that enables
students to do field research for college credit.
The Senior Project is an original, individual, focused project growing out of the student’s cumulative academic experiences.
Overview
Preparation for the Senior Project begins in junior year, with coursework, seminars, and meetings with advisers—all directed toward developing a deeper understanding of the student’s interests within EUS. Juniors are required to submit a one-page, single-spaced Senior Project proposal, which should describe a topic that might form the basis for the student’s project. The proposal should include a possible research question or questions, an explanation of how the project is interdisciplinary in its approach, and a list of potential faculty advisers.
Overview
Instructions for proposal submissions are distributed at least four weeks before Registration Day, the semester prior to the start of the Senior Project. During senior year, one course per semester is devoted to completing the Senior Project to fulfill the 8-credit program requirement.
