Apply Here: https://apply.interfolio.com/161072Bard College seeks a full-time Reentry Program Coordinator for the Bard Prison Initiative (BPI). This is a full-time, exempt, 12 month per year position based at Bard’s campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.
The Reentry Program Coordinator provides administrative support for BPI’s work with incarcerated students who are preparing to return home from prison. Reporting to the Director of College-in-Prison Operations, the coordinator ensures data and database accuracy, smooth functioning of reentry support systems, and coordinated communication with students and colleagues. The position is based in the BPI office and involves occasional travel to the New York State prisons where BPI operates.
The successful candidate will excel at working in a community that is broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation and religion.
About BPI
Formed in 1999 to address the evisceration of college-in-prison, the Bard Prison Initiative (BPI) defies expectations of who college is for and where it might lead. For twenty years, BPI has reimagined and redefined questions of availability, affordability, and expectations typically associated with college in America. One of the most rigorous and effective college-in-prison programs in the country, BPI is now extending its radical intervention in educational inequity outside of prison through the Bard Microcolleges and BardBac. BPI currently enrolls 600 students across eleven campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining non-academic student and alumni data
- Organizing, preparing, and/or coordinating written correspondence from the BPI administration to or on behalf of currently incarcerated students
- Tracking reentry advising needs and schedules; preparing colleagues for reentry advising meetings
- Managing transfer of digital student files
- Managing informational resources provided to incarcerated students, including a jobs binder and two annual reentry publications
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Commitment to BPI’s mission of defying expectations of who college is for and where it might lead
- Administrative experience
- Discretion regarding confidential information
- Experience with database use, data entry, and reporting (experience with FileMaker especially advantageous)
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Acute attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office and G-Suite
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and work in a standard office environment
- Must be able to occasionally lift 20 pounds
- Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed

Compensation $60,500 -$63,000
This salary reflects the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
