This in-person position is based on the Annandale-on-Hudson campus of Bard College and requires some driving off campus. The Resource Coordinator reports to the BPI Program Manager.
About BPI
Formed in 1999 to address the evisceration of college-in-prison, the Bard Prison Initiative (BPI) defies expectations of who college is for and where it might lead. For twenty years, BPI has reimagined and redefined questions of availability, affordability, and expectations typically associated with college in America. One of the most rigorous and effective college-in-prison programs in the country, BPI is now extending its radical intervention in educational inequity outside of prison through the Bard Microcolleges and BardBac. BPI currently enrolls 600 students across eleven campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update book ordering and tracking system for roughly 8,000 books
- Create and supervise creation of more than 3,000 course readers
- Manage book inventory and supervise daily operations in the BPI book storage center
- Pack boxes of course books, readers, materials, and supplies for delivery
- Participate in fulfillment of student research requests, especially for senior projects
- Assist with preparation, transportation, and follow-up for events, especially commencements
- Transport boxes among offices on Bard campus, including shipping & receiving
- Run occasional office errands
- Provide general support for college-in-prison operations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- This position requires a high level of organization, close communication with colleagues, timely follow-through, and close attention to detail
- Must be proficient with spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets)
- Must complete requirements to obtain and maintain status as a Bard Driver
Physical Qualifications
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time and work in standard office environment
- Must be able to lift and move 20-50 lb boxes of books and course materials on a regular basis

Compensation $27-$28/hour
This salary reflects the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
