The successful Resiliency Manager candidate is a skilled planner and/or project manager who will assist local governments with resilience, coastal hazard, and adaptation policy and planning in New Jersey’s central coastal region. The Resiliency Manager will inventory municipal needs for resiliency, provide direct technical assistance and connect municipalities to a “network” of public and private support and technical assistance. In addition to coordinating municipal needs with resources, the Resiliency Manager will report regularly on municipal progress towards resilience, as well as gaps in available tools and resources. This feedback will inform the work of state, non-governmental organizations (NGO), and federal entities in policy development and research. Description: The New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission serves as a forum for interstate communication and coordination on water related pollution control efforts among all the New England States and New York State. Description: The Climate and Energy Policy Associate supports the Nature Conservancy’s conservation goals by developing and executing strategies designed to broaden support in Ohio for action to advance energy and climate policy. Responsibilities: The Climate and Energy Policy Associate will lead efforts in Ohio in support of TNC’s climate and energy policy priorities. RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
Working closely with the Director of Government Relations, the Climate and Energy Policy Associate:
- Develops and executes strategies to broaden support in Ohio for action on TNC’s climate and energy priorities.
- Strengthen TNC’s role as an effective, credible, bipartisan partner on energy and climate solutions.
- Conducts research and represents TNC to a variety of constituencies and stakeholders (public, private, government, non-government agencies, academia); and engages these groups in developing and implementing strategies that advance climate and clean energy policies.
- May manage projects and teams involving research and analysis on a broad range of topics related to climate and energy policy, such as public opinion surveys and economic analysis.
- Monitors legislative, regulatory, and administrative action on policy climate and energy policy opportunities as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities: The Adirondack Conservation Intern is responsible for assisting staff in the areas of conservation science, threat abatement, communications and marketing, fee land and conservation easement stewardship, and fundraising, and for completing a nature preserve management and stewardship lead project as follows:
Lead Project – Nature Preserve Management and Stewardship: The intern will work to transform one of the Adirondack Chapter’s nature preserves into a community resource that will provide opportunities for local residents and visitors to get outside and explore nature. Working under the supervision of the Stewardship Programs Manager, the intern will engage in management, planning, communications and outreach in order to implement the management plan for this flagship preserve. (~12-19 weeks)
Preserve management and planning responsibilities may include:
Coordinate partner, volunteer, and community involvement.
Carry out trail work and trail design, including visitor parking area.
Improve signage to enhance visitor experience.
Revise and provide feedback on preserve management plan.

Threat Abatement: Assist the Terrestrial and Aquatic Invasive Species Project Coordinators with control and monitoring of invasives at our preserves and at ecologically critical sites in the Adirondack Park, including NYS Forest Preserve, and NYS Dept. of Transportation rights-of-way; assist with public outreach and education. Fundraising: Assist Philanthropy staff with all aspects of fundraising trips and special events, including logistics, donor relations, and producing informational materials. Assist with one or more field trips, and with the Annual Membership Meeting logistics. (~1-2 weeks)
Other Stewardship: Assist Stewardship staff with various aspects of nature preserve and conservation easement stewardship activities. Tasks might include: boundary marking and maintenance work at our nature preserves and conservation easement properties throughout the Adirondack Park, inventorying and organizing large maps and other conservation easement recordkeeping, and assisting landowners with invasive plant eradication. Debrief: Maintain a journal documenting your experiences as an intern, and debrief with staff at the end of the internship
General: In addition to the listed duties, there might be clerical and other work as needed to support conservation priorities or special projects that can benefit from the intern’s skills and interests. - Oversee and coordinate the development of a strong strategic plan to achieve the AOA project’s goal of establishing large scale MPAs and marine reserves throughout the Southern Ocean.

- Manage campaign consultants and their activities, in support of the development and implementation of marine reserves and MPAs in the Southern Ocean.
- Negotiate and manage all contracts with all campaign related consultants, working with ASOC’s administration team as required, with ASOC’s Executive Director providing final sign off.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with decision makers, government officials and national and international institutions, as well as relevant NGOs in the field.

- Develop and maintain a broad knowledge of the science, policies, and politics of marine reserves globally, other projects, and ocean conservation issues broadly;
- Represent the AOA project and the ASOC at meetings and events.
- Coordinating an established global communications team composed of consultants and staff of member groups.
- Ensure consultants and partner groups working directly on this project are in full compliance with all federal, state and local ethics and lobbying laws.
- The Project Director will provide monthly written reports to the AOA-SC which will be reviewed on the monthly call by the AOA-SC.
- Report on the project budget to the Steering Committee, which will have primary oversight , and which will review on a quarterly basis the budget
- Cultivate relationships with all coalition members and inform Steering Committee of new groups or individuals who wish to join.
Qualifications:
