Organization/Position Overview

The Food and Agriculture Development Internship with Worldwatch is a unique opportunity to support and participate in research that drives environmental policy. The intern will work closely with the Institute’s food and agriculture staff to design, organize and develop case statements and funding prospects that will contribute to the Nourishing the Planet’s research on agroecological innovations. Responsibilities include: identifying potential funders, grants, fellowships; development and draft project and grant proposals; and cultivate relationships with potential funders.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with colleagues, write and submit grant proposals.
  • Ability to maintain organized electronic and paper records on foundation proposals and to track foundation activity and interactions.
  • Ability to utilize online and other resources, research potential funding sources.
  • Manage relationships with foundations. Cultivate and steward funders and potential funders.
  • Track, write and submit all reports as required by funders.
  • Research and follow up on donor inquiries and concerns.
