This full-time permanent position with be a member of the Conservation Stewardship team, facilitating research and educational programs on and off-site. This may include the following partners: state and local wildlife organizations, corporations, colleges, universities and high schools. Facilitating Citizen Science initiatives with the Conservation Education Assistant.

Responsibilities

Support the VP for Conservation Stewardship in continuing forward the KNC current and future conservation strategic initiatives

– Provide Wildlife enhancement and education to local Corporations

– Develop partnerships with high schools, colleges and universities

– Participate with and develop partnerships related to local, state and national initiatives

– Assist in the hiring, training and supervision of paid and non-paid staff

– Develop and implement short and long range budget plans – Maintain equipment, supplies, and materials necessary

– Assist the team with other projects in the Conservation Stewardship Department and the KNC mission as needed.

Qualifications/Skills

– Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, wildlife management, or related. Master’s degree helpful

– Minimum 3-5 years experience working on conservation research projects

– Experience in developing, delivering, and monitoring research projects to various audiences

– Familiarity with Great Lakes Basin flora and fauna

– Experience in grant writing and partnership development

– Ability to work as part of a team and independently

– Ability to work with a diverse group of people

– Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule

– Computer competency. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GIS Arcview
