Description
This position is responsible for building on T-Mobile’s energy strategy and recommending and advocating for energy efficiency programs and green energy programs across the company. This position will work with the Environmental Sustainability Manager to leverage existing efforts towards energy management and cost savings and build efforts to drive T-Mobile’s “Green” values (Increased EBITDA margins & reduced CO2 footprint) throughout the enterprise. This position will work cross functionally to set goals and targets and build a thorough business case and business case methodology to facilitate ongoing reporting and drive future energy reduction efforts.
Responsibilities
- Develop a detailed report with a set of specific energy efficiency recommendations including actionable short-term and long-term projects and forecasted energy and dollar cost savings.
- Work with the Supply Chain organization to drive build energy scorecards, and focus efforts on reducing consumption, improving processes and policies to drive energy efficiency throughout T-Mobile’s enterprise.
- Participate in programs to champion energy reduction across the enterprise. Work to set goals and drive metrics within these organizations and drive accountability in order to embed energy awareness to all employees across the country.
- Work with T-Mobile’s Environmental Sustainability Manager to manage energy reduction programs across the enterprise. Drive these projects to reach out to the T-Mobile retail stores and the Engineering field operations.
- Assist stakeholders in the identification, scoping, definition and prioritization of these energy projects based on research and evaluation of current energy audits. Review T-Mobile Energy Audit information and energy reduction goals, and analyze the identified efficiency measures and make the financial case for making the investments.
- Review relevant records and information including energy bills, purchase records, facilities records and interact with relevant departments including, engineering facilities, IT and purchasing to analyze the identified efficiency measures, tracking procedures, and make the financial case for making the investments.
- Create a business case and recommendations for direct environmental results in the form of identified energy and monetary savings with a focus on analyzing and facilitating energy efficiency investments.
- Collecting data from a number of external and internal (T-Mobile) sources, including – databases containing equipment inventory, power consumption, RMA, network performance statistics, GIS and other cell-site related information – vendors and external contractors that maintain backup batteries/generators at our cell-sites -internet, govt. and public utility websites (may require phone calling to obtain desired information) for utility reliability -internal T-Mobile personnel and teams who may have the desired information
- Compiling and analyzing data to obtain useful information such as event correlation and clustering
- Additional duties and projects as assigned by business management as needed.
Qualifications
Functional and Technical Skills:
· 2 years experience in a business management position in the consumer products industry with emphasis in business operations management, product development/management, operations analysis, telecommunications and/or engineering.
· Fluency in Business Operations Analysis as well as continuous improvement methodologies including Lean and Six Sigma.
· Strong quantitative, analytical and technical skills related to improvement approaches and demonstrated results, and GHG (green house gas) emissions accounting.
· Demonstrated ability in project management and to lead the deployment and implementation of change management programs.
· Strong problem solving abilities and strong critical thinking.
· Knowledge of financial analysis, return on investment calculations, statistics and statistical modeling, and environmental management/sustainability.
· Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Experience and Education:
· Currently pursuing a full-time MBA (Operations, Finance, Environmental Management)
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (required).
Background of Candidates:
Candidates should have background experience, skills, and/or education appropriate to Environmental Management / Sustainability. Candidates must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be currently enrolled in school or post graduation of six months. Background checks are required for interns. T-Mobile requires that individuals considered for internships are a minimum of 18 years of age and have the right to work in the United States.
