Description
Potomac Riverkeeper seeks a highly organized and effective Production and Membership Coordinator who is able to coordinate production and design of print and electronic content, manage membership processes, and provide event support. This position reports to the Vice President.
Responsibilities
Content Production Management
* Manage the production of print materials including member newsletter, annual report, and other publications, and manage the work of contractors who assist with these projects
* Manage the production of digital materials including monthly e-News and action alerts (Vertical Response)
* Produce materials for events and mailings.
* Manage Potomac Riverkeeper website: update content and create pages, action alerts, and blogs, and manage website hosting, design and maintenance contractors
* Manage image library
* Assist with social networking strategies
Membership Development & Engagement
* Maintain membership/donor database, and send thank you letters and welcome packets
* Update website event calendar
* Assist in staffing outreach and fundraising events
Office Administration
* Answer general questions via email and phone from members and the public
* Prepare bank deposits
Qualifications
* BA; 2-3 years of on-the-job nonprofit work experience preferred; a demonstrated interest/experience with environmental work preferred.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. Desire and ability to work independently in a self-directed, small-office environment. Vendor management experience a plus.
* Strong written and verbal communications skills
* Knowledge of social networking forums and strategies to promote causes a plus
* Website management competency (HTML, JavaScript, Flash and open source website platforms, particularly Drupal, a plus)
* Basic design experience (Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign). Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Occasional weekend and evening hours.
