Description

We are building on the successes of Earth Day’s 41th Anniversary in April 2011 by re-envisioning our International Department’s exciting international initiatives in education, local government, and policy. We seek engaging, enthusiastic interns who wish to learn more about and contribute to the functions of an international environmental non-profit in the summer or fall of 2012.

Responsibilities

In addition to working on individual special projects, International Programs interns will have the opportunity to:

  • Support Earth Day Network’s global network of grass-roots organizations, local authorities, educators, and youth.
  • Assist in engaging youth and university students world-wide in environmental initiatives through social networking and other web-based tools
  • Research and preparation for environmental policy and conferences, including the upcoming Earth Summit 2012.
  • Participate in research and development of online international environmental education resources and programming.
  • Engage in the day-to-day operations of the International Department, including meetings, correspondence, and events.

Qualifications

  • A strong interest in and knowledge of current education and environmental issues at the international level;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs;
  • Experience with web and multimedia design and/or development;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
  • Professional demeanor;
  • International background or experience, with intermediate to superior-level fluency in Chinese Mandarin, or Arabic preferred.
