Description

This position will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Energy Services and Solutions Team, Account Management Team, various contractor partners and industry suppliers to effectively identify, cultivate and implement renewable energy projects (solar and wind) ultimately increasing the company’s customer base, market share, gross revenue and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

•    Identify and qualify renewable energy project/sales opportunities within commercial, industrial, institutional, agricultural and government business settings; compete for and secure project work and maintain a strong project opportunity pipeline
•    Prepare and deliver comprehensive client presentations and proposals, leveraging the company’s expertise and applicable financing and incentive programs, to secure customer commitment on renewable energy projects/sales (Proposal to include scope of work, product specification, ROI, site and permit requirements, utility interconnection agreements, generation output, etc.)
•    Manage and direct the implementation of renewable energy projects (including, but not limited to: design, budgeting, scheduling, pre-qualification, selection and management of contractors/subcontractors and equipment vendors, structuring project-related contracts, maintaining close contact with the customer, coordination with government and utility programs, oversight of project implementation, and production of customer deliverables) on time and on budget
•    Seek out and foster strategic relationships with renewable energy contractors, vendors, utilities and other industry trade partners.
•    Work with vendors, customers and industry partners to identify opportunities for new renewable energy products and services, as well as the strategy development and roll out of such services (includes market research, projecting sales, promotion, managing sales progress, etc.)
•    Assist in the development and delivery of renewable energy technical training to internal and external stakeholder groups
•    Other related duties as assigned.

•    Strong customer service skills (proactive solution provider, knowledgeable about and responsive to customer needs, take action based on market facts)
•    Knowledge and understanding of the renewable energy market and the opportunities it presents (current and future)
•    Ability to negotiate effectively at a high level (sell on value) and build/maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, contractors, and suppliers
•    Confidence in representing the company when prospecting new customers
•    Serve as an internal resource and specialist to assist Account Managers and Business Unit Managers in developing renewable energy business
•    Drive for continuous improvement
•    Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at once while maintaining an overall view and vision for future goals and initiatives.
•    Negotiation skills with contractors, suppliers, vendors and customers.
•    Strong interpersonal and analytical skills

•    Ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment

Required Experience
•    3-5 years experience in sales, experience working with renewable energy products or related experience required.
•    Minimum of associate’s degree is required.  Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or energy-related technology is preferred.
•    Familiarity with the energy industry and renewable energy initiatives is required
•    Aptitude and drive to stay informed about renewable energy industry trends and new product development is a must
•    Knowledge of regulatory issues related to renewable energy preferred
•    Demonstrated ability and success in renewable energy sales and/or project management
•    Previous experience developing and managing budgets and project schedules is preferred
•    Strong Microsoft Office skills
•    Knowledge of renewable energy technologies is required
•    Basic electrical, mechanical and/or structural engineering knowledge is required
•    Experience with energy-related federal and state tax incentives and utility rebate and financing programs preferred
•    Technical sales and project specification experience preferred
