GETF’s current clients include Fortune 500 companies, the US Government, and communities.

Description

GETF seeks an enthusiastic, proactive, self-motivated, team-oriented Communications Intern to assist primarily in communications around its clean water programs, including two $30 million global public-private partnerships on water. The focus of these partnerships is primarily in sub-Saharan Africa. The goals of these programs include improving access to water supply and sanitation, protecting watersheds, and promoting the productive use of water. Many Interns have moved on to full-time positions at the conclusion of their internship.

Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Drafting reports and communications and outreach materials
  • Cataloguing photographs
  • Coordinating events and stakeholder visits to projects abroad
  • Preparing/Formatting PowerPoint presentations or slides
  • Developing stories about our water programs for external distribution
  • Conducting research and drafting findings
  • Providing support and coordination for water and sanitation development projects
  • Assisting Project Managers as needed

Qualifications

  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and management abilities
  • Effective oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to operate specialized software programs (e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Suite)
  • Background in communications, graphic design, international development, environmental policy, water resources, and sustainability issues preferred
  • Experience traveling or living in developing countries preferred
  • Language skills ideal (particularly Arabic, French, Portuguese, and/or Spanish)
