MediaGlobal is an independent international media organization, based in the United Nations, creating awareness in the global media on social justice and development issues in the world’s least developed countries.
Launched in 2006, MediaGlobal is a 501 © 3 media organization headquartered in New York with offices in the United Nations Secretariat.
With a strong focus on the global South, MediaGlobal disseminates news stories globally on economic development, global health, food security and the impact of climate change on developing countries. Since 2006 MediaGlobal has conducted a successful educational programme for students interested in writing on development issues.
UNEARTH News Journal’s mission is to report the story of climate change in the developing world as it unfolds, giving voice to those most affected.
Description
We are seeking writers/editors with experience in line- and copy-editing, writing news stories, identifying writers and creating content for the online publication. If selected, you will be responsible for writing features, editing news stories written by field Correspondents and covering and writing news stories at the United Nations.
Responsibilities
• Work in the United Nations and interact with leaders in the field of energy and environment;
• Collaborate closely with the leadership team that influences organizational direction;
• Work with an internationally recognized and award-winning organization who have the professionalism and passion to make a real and sustained difference.
Qualifications
Applicants should be well-organized, self-motivated and reliable, with excellent attention to detail, the ability to meet multiple deadlines, and a high degree of professionalism. Strong written and communication skills, knowledge of WordPress and experience using the Internet as a research tool are required. Experience with web management a must. Knowledge of Energy and Environment issues is a plus.
