Organization Overview
The Columban Center for Advocacy and Outreach is the Missionary Society of St. Columban’s national office for social justice advocacy and domestic and international service programs.
Description
We seek a creative individual who is able to multitask in a work environment that is community centered, committed to social justice and inviting people to join us in mission.
Responsibilities
- Monitor U.S. domestic and foreign policy regarding migration, economic and environmental justice, peace, and human rights through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching.
- Collaborate with other NGO’s, faith-based organizations, coalitions and networks which focus on the issues / countries which are priorities for Columbans:
- Migration
- Climate Change
- Economic Justice
- Engage with key members of Congress and Administration
- Supervise Advocacy Internship Program
Qualifications
- Minimum B.A.
- Bilingual English-Spanish highly desired
- Prefer 2 years minimum cross-cultural mission or volunteer experience
- Prefer 2 years minimum policy/advocacy experience
- Ability to work occasional nights/weekends and travel domestically
- Excellent written and public speaking communication
- Excellent administrative and organization skills
