Organization Overview
The Field Station Herbarium contains several thousand specimens of vascular plants, mainly from the Hudson Valley and NYC Metro Area, as well as small collections of mosses, lichens, and fungi.
Description/ Responsibilities
The work involves cataloging, mounting, labeling, sorting, and otherwise curating vascular plant specimens, and possibly other tasks. This is a job for a meticulous worker who is interested in plants and museum techniques. It is not a plant identification job, although the intern can learn some identification on his or her own.
