Description/Responsibilities
The Department of Environmental Studies seeks to hire a full-time, one year lecturer for the 2012-13 academic year. The position will be responsible for developing and teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in sustainability and related areas, as well as supporting the current environmental studies curriculum. The department seeks a candidate whose teaching addresses one or more aspects of environmental sustainability such as sustainable development, sustainable energy, economics of sustainability, human dimensions of sustainability, and/or applied green business/entrepreneurship development at the local/regional level. The candidate will also be expected to coordinate introductory environmental studies laboratories as part of their teaching duties.
Qualifications
This is a nine-month, non-tenure track position beginning in August 2012. Applicants must hold at least a Master’s degree or equivalent in environmental studies or related field. Candidates from various disciplines, particularly those with both practical and academic expertise in environmental sustainability, are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching and working in an interdisciplinary academic context.
