Description/Responsibilities

The Project Associate will develop and implement strategies to conserve and restore ecologically significant lands in the northern Sierra Nevada, with a focus on (1) researching and promoting “payment for ecosystem service” projects, including the Mokelumne Environmental Benefits Program, and (2) promoting strategies to increase the pace and scale of forest and watershed restoration in the northern Sierra.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree and 5 years’ experience in natural resource policy or management (with a master’s degree in natural resources or related field preferred), together with professional experience with the policy and science of key natural resource issues in the Sierra Nevada, such as forest policy and management, watershed restoration, freshwater habitat conservation, and ecosystem services.
