Description
The City of Dubuque, Iowa (population 58,000) invites applications for the position of Environmental Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing environmental/civil engineering duties related to compliance with the City’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) municipal separate storm sewer system permit; the City’s NPDES wastewater treatment permit as it relates to the sanitary sewer collection system and the City’s Consent Decree with the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess considerable engineering experience related to overseeing a sanitary or storm water management program; a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in civil, environmental or biological engineering or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the essential knowledge, skills and abilities. The successful candidate will possess registration as a Professional Engineer with the Iowa State Board of Engineering Examiners at the time of appointment or within six (6) months after appointment. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to follow a management philosophy that is input oriented and values problem solving and the development of partnerships, and a desire to be part of an organization that values service, people, integrity, responsibility, innovation and teamwork.
