In line with these goals, the German Marshall Fund’s Energy Transition Forum provides a regular venue for open, structured, and fact-based dialogue and debate among select leaders from the private and public sectors about the necessary market conditions, policy incentives and frameworks for a transition to a secure, sustainable, and affordable energy future.
Description
The Climate & Energy Program is currently seeking a highly motivated Program Assistant to assist with the program’s Energy Transition Forum. S/he will focus primarily on assisting with the execution of this innovative and dynamic Forum. This position is a temporary assignment for at least four (4) months starting in August and ending in December.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Director;
- Edit and contribute to policy-relevant publications and writing substantive content for internal and external communications on the Energy Transition Forum;
- Prepare talking points and other materials for the Senior Director’s speaking and conference engagments; and
- Maintain Climate & Energy Program database.
- Assist with organizing logistics for the Energy Transition Forum in addition to other events and seminars;
- Review and summarize miscellaneous reports and documents; prepare background documents and outgoing mail as necessary;
- Prepare talking points and other materials for the Senior Director’s speaking and conference engagments; and
- Maintain Climate & Energy Program database.
Qualifications
- Have a genuine and enthusiastic interest in energy policy, energy systems, and/or energy technologies.
- Have excellent analytical, writing skills and previous research experience.
- Be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Recent graduate majoring in Energy/Environment Studies, U.S. and/or European Public Policy and/or International Relations preferred; will consider current Junior/Senior undergraduate or graduate students.
- Fluency in English required; fluency in one or more other European languages is a plus.
