Description

The Restoration Projects Coordinator develops, contracts, implements, monitors and reports on diverse landscape restoration and habitat management activities identified by the North Fork John Day Watershed Council to carry-out with partnering public and private landowners. The Restoration Projects Coordinator works closely with all personnel at NFJDWC to optimize the output of the organization and uphold its mission.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement complex short-range and long-range projects related to restoration, landscape improvement and community support within the watershed.
• Prepare work plans, contracts, proposals, permitting, budgets, timelines, and deliverables for restoration projects, monitoring, and other organizational efforts.
• Oversee contracts to assure optimal delivery of project goals.
• Work collaboratively and effectively with landowners, funding entities, agency personnel, and organizations.
• Technical writing to include grant applications, proposals and interim/final reporting in a timely and organized fashion.
• Project tracking to include budget tracking; reporting to, and communication with funders, partners and Executive Director; monitoring; and assuring that project objectives and deliverables are met.
• Participate in organization-wide efforts including, but not limited to: outreach, education, special events, collaborative efforts, fundraising, planning.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
Education in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, or a related field and/or a minimum of four years of increasingly responsible experience in the development, implementation, and support of complex projects related to Natural Resources management. Versatility between office and field operations is required to follow projects from development, through implementation, to completion.

Knowledge and Training Experience Requirements
The Restoration Projects Coordinator must be proficient in:
• Vegetation Identification and plant community associations
• Interpretation of hydrology and fisheries
• GPS operations and ArcView GIS procedure
• Technical Writing
• Contract development and supervision
• Collection and management of data
• Communication
