Organization Overview

Puget Sound Sage is a regional alliance of labor, community, and faith organizations, dedicated to building a powerful movement for economic justice. We use research, policy advocacy, community organizing and coalition-building to make the regional economy work for working people. Sage is a member of the national Partnership for Working Families, a network of economic justice organizations working to transform the nation’s urban agenda.

Description

Sage is seeking a talented researcher/policy analyst to work across several projects and campaigns. We seek someone with a strong and demonstrated commitment to economic, racial and environmental justice, and three to ten years of experience in non-profit advocacy, public policy or union work.

Initially, the researcher/policy analyst will be assigned to Sage’s Ports Campaign, responsible for researching and writing on conditions for workers at Sea-Tac Airport and the Port of Seattle and related community issues. Other campaigns in the next 1-2 years could include development, housing and displacement issues and general support for worker organizing.

· Provide tactical research support for Sage’s campaigns, including fact sheets, e-blasts, web postings and internal memos.

· Represent Sage at public events, such as public hearings, and coalition meetings.

· Participate as a team member in Sage campaigns, including planning, events and actions.
