Description

Vernadero Group Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Specialist. The position will be located in the Environmental Management Division at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. The Environmental Management Division of the U.S. Army Garrison Redstone is responsible for insuring that all NEPA review and documentation is performed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations at Redstone Arsenal.

Responsibilities

The NEPA Specialist will be responsible for preparing and reviewing all NEPA related documents, evaluations of impacts of each alternative, descriptions of mitigation measures which must be accomplished prior to, during and after the implementation of the proposed actions. The successful candidate must have knowledge of Hydrogeology or Biology, specifically, dealing with impacts to endangered species and/or ground water. The types of actions include ongoing construction/demolition of temporary and permanent facilities.

Qualifications

Candidates should have Bachelors degree in Geology, Biology or related field and 5-7 years of experience in preparing NEPA compliance documents. Knowledge of Army and DoD NEPA requirements is preferred. Candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills, a proven ability at analyzing environmental impacts, be able to work independently and able to complete multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Candidates shall have superior skills in: MS Word, Excel, and technical writing. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, posses a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a background check.
