Hours and Compensation: This is a part-time, non-paid, Spring / Summer 2013 internship. Approximately 15-20 hours per week, to approximately 200 hours over 8 to 10 weeks. Hours are usually during regular weekday working hours and flexible but must be able to accommodate evening or early morning events or weekend events. School credit may be available for this internship, please speak with your counselor for details.

Description
Join a stable, dynamic nonprofit organization in promoting the use of alternative modes of transportation including bicycling, walking, carpooling, vanpooling, using transit, etc.
The Communications Intern will work specifically on organizing Transportation Solutions’ Bike Buddy program for the Leetsdale-Parker corridor (Cherry Creek Trail). S/he will create materials, web and social media communications, solicit prize donations, recruit volunteers, and organize and participate in safety training, group rides, and other events related to the program. Transportation Solutions is a small organization, so all staff members are expected to assist with a wide variety of activities.
Qualifications
The ideal intern is self-disciplined, motivated, creative and outgoing. A passion for improving quality of life and the environment through transportation is a must, with the desire to work in a small, nonprofit environment. Candidate should have experience or desire to learn about bicycling. Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Ecel and Publisher are required. Great office in Cherry Creek with some travel within the local Denver area required.
