Hours & Compensation: Part-time. $14.93-$16.46 per hour, depending on experience.
Position Dates: Work hours are flexible and average 2-3 days/week at 6-8 hours/day. Weekends are required. Programs are conducted during normal school hours and on weekends.

Organization Overview:
The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District operates a wetlands interpretive center specializing in salt marsh ecology. The Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center is seeking an interpretive naturalist to coordinate our popular fishing program, including leading summer fishing camp for youth and weekend fishing programs for adults and families. HSIC’s objective is to connect our community to the San Francisco Bay and inspire a sense of appreciation, respect, and stewardship for the Bay, its inhabitants, and the services they provide.
Description:
The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District was awarded a grant from the US Fish and Wildlife Foundation to enhance our fishing programs at the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center. The position is year-round, part-time, hourly and is expected to continue beyond the grant allocation. In addition to coordinating the fishing program, the naturalist will conduct wetland ecology school programs, assist with special events and contribute to staff meetings and the quarterly newsletter, Tidal Tales. Flexible work hours, Wednesday, Friday and one weekend day.
