Position Title: Energy Specialist

Location: Northampton, MA

Hours & Compensation: This is a full-time salaried plus commission position with benefits located principally in the Pioneer valley but travel throughout Western Massachusetts is required. CET offers competitive pay rates and a comprehensive health plan which pays approximately 64% of the individual’s health insurance costs. New employees are eligible for dental and disability insurance; accrue 10 days of paid vacation leave per year, 9 sick days and CET offers 12 paid holidays. CET is an equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting residential energy assessments
  • Conducting combustion safety tests
  • Installing energy saving measures such as light bulbs and faucet aerators, low flow showerheads
  • Identifying technical barriers to installing weatherization measures
  • Performing 3 or more assessments or inspections per day
  • Selling air sealing and insulation measures to homeowners
  • Follow up sales
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Meeting or exceeding CET sales expectations
  • Meeting or exceeding CET expectations for installing energy savings measures (particularly light bulbs) in homes
  • Thorough, accurate, and timely completion of all paperwork and data entry

Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience working in field related to energy efficiency
  • BPI Building Analyst certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • Strong math / geometry / communication / computer / sales skills
  • Ability to pass drug test, driving and background check
  • Reliable, hardworking, trustworthy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to learn and perform a variety of diagnostic tests
  • Use of a reliable vehicle and ability to transport materials
  • Must possess valid Massachusetts driver’s license
  • Passion for the environment and community involvement
  • Tuesday – Saturday required
