Organization Overview

Partners of the Americas seeks a self-motivated and dedicated intern to support its Youth Engagement (YE) team. Throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, and the US, YE implements diplomacy programming that fosters youth leadership, intercultural exchanges and a long-term commitment to service. Since 2003, YE has implemented programs in over 15 countries and worked with over 850 youth.

Description

This fall, the YE intern, amongst other things, will have the opportunity to work on a new pilot program with environment and entrepreneurship themes involving rural college students from Colombia.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director and Program Officer in ongoing planning and coordination for our Youth Lead Programs • Support and manage outreach to local volunteers throughout the Americas • Develop promotional materials and travel activities • Develop self-directed learning goals to measure progress and achievement

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral skills in English and Spanish • Monitoring and evaluation experience • Knowledge of youth issues, leadership exchanges, community development and/or social networking in Latin America • At least 15-25 hours per week
