The Ozark Regional Land Trust (ORLT) seeks a full-time Stewardship and Project Director to carry out a significant portion of the organization’s conservation programs. Founded in 1984, ORLT conserves over 25,000 acres of forests, prairies, farms, and other natural resources in the Ozarks of Missouri and Arkansas through conservation easements and fee simple ownership.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the position are in two key areas. The Land Stewardship focus includes monitoring 70 conservation easements and managing 20 fee-owned lands. The Project Management focus includes coordinating and implementing some special projects that are ongoing or expected in the near future.
Qualifications
The position requires a bachelor’s degree and the candidate must have experience monitoring conservation easements, and drafting conservation easements and Baseline Reports. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with excellent communication skills, be proficient with computer software, GPS, Arc/GIS mapping, website management and social media, and have excellent record keeping and time management skills. The candidate must also be willing to travel throughout the Ozarks of Missouri and Arkansas for two to three days at a time working alone in remote and rugged environments.
