Options negotiable. $800 for a month of weekends, $600 per week,  could consider $3K up front for the rest of 2013.  Open to any portion of these months and/or swap opportunity for your NYC apartment.
Off the Taconic Parkway in Dutchess County, 89 miles, 1.5 hrs from NYC border. Rhinebeck, Hudson, and Kingston/Woodstock, and Millbrook are all within 20 minutes. Bard College, Tivoli, or Red Hook are 10 minutes away.
This Simple Cabin in the Woods sits alongside a small audible flowing creek with a neighboring pond and small waterfall, surrounded by hundreds of forested acres without visible neighbors (other than deer, raccoon, turkeys, and birds). The area offers quiet places to walk or sit and observe the changing of the season. Inside you will find a simple, modern kitchen with everything you need to cook up the fine produce of the Hudson Valley. Your windows and porch will look directly into the woods and wildlife of the Taconic region.
The rustic fire pit along the creek offers a true Autumn outdoor experience.
Arrive by train to Rhinecliff or Hudson or drive the Taconic.
Your simple comforts are aided by a firm queen sized bed, modern bathroom, radiant floor heating, washer and dryer, a shelf full of books, and walk-out deck. Expect clean linens, internet access, Apple TV with Netflix and a built-in Projector. Country roads and wooded areas offer exploration opportunities without a car. Great area for cycling and cross-country skiing.
Your host knows the region well and can offer a wealth of information about Tivoli, Bard, Hudson, Rhinebeck, and Kingston. These are terrific communities with art/music opportunities, unique dining, and farm/rural culture. But the simple cabin is remote enough to offer silence from even these sleepy towns. The simple cabin exists because it represents everything that the city is not.
