Founded in 1990, the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) fosters the widespread adoption and continuous improvement of organic farming systems. We are a national champion of the American organic family farmer, and envision a future where organic farming is the leading form of agriculture for healthy people who thrive on a healthy planet.

OFRF is seeking a strategic leader who has credibility and experience with organic agriculture and an appreciation for its rapidly growing national significance and multifunctional appeal. He/she must be able to attract and build a collaborative staff team that has experience in fundraising, communications, research, policy, finance and technology. Proven track records in attracting and sustaining public and private funding, informed political insights, strategic vision, and effective collaborations are essential for this position.
As we build on historical momentum and continue into our third decade of advocating for organic farmers and organic agriculture, OFRF offers a meaningful, vital, and highly visible leadership opportunity for our next Executive Director. While we anticipate that research and policy will remain the major focus of OFRF’s work, our immediate and primary needs for this position are: organizational leadership, building effective collaborations, and fundraising.
Although OFRF has been located in Santa Cruz, CA since its founding, the Board of Directors would consider moving the organization to a new location that is strategically relevant to our mission.
