Position Purpose

The preferred location for this position is Bismarck, ND, but we are willing to consider other office locations based on the candidates experience and proven abilities.

Provide air quality permitting and environmental services for KLJ projects in a timely, accurate, and cost effective manner.

 

Essential Functions

•·         Provide air quality permitting and environmental compliance requirements for clients by maintaining communications with regulating environmental agency personnel and staying abreast of environmental regulatory developments

•·         Project manager and client manager on designated projects

•·         Adhere to project budget and schedule

•·         Effectively deal with difficult situations and confrontation both internally and externally

•·         Market to existing or potential clients and obtain work for the firm

•·         Coordinate business development and marketing strategy

•·         Prepare forecast of workload for assigned staff and closely monitor backlog

•·         Provide quality control by reviewing work to ensure compliance with KLJ quality standards

•·         Utilize effective written and oral communication

•·         Provide direction, review, and support to the group by leading projects; assuring proper practices and techniques

•·         Instruct, train, and mentor group members and support staff

•·         Must have a valid drivers license and be able to operate motorized vehicles

 

Responsibilities

•·         Accurate, timely, permit applications that are strategically crafted for maximum flexibility, and expert negotiations with regulatory agencies that streamline the permitting process

•·         Facilitate pre-application meetings with clients and the regulatory agencies to ensure an effective permitting strategy

•·         Be knowledgeable of and stay current with rules and regulations surrounding permits relating to EPA guidelines such as New Source Review Authorization, Title V Operating permit program, etc.

•·         Initiate the development of an EMS (Environmental Management System) program to offer to clients

•·Prepare scopes, fees, contracts, reports, budgets and proposals

•·  Plan, organize, coordinate, prioritize, and monitor client relations

Education:
A Bachelors Degree in Environmental studies or closely related field and 10+ years of experience is required.

Preferences:
Project management experience is preferred.
