Position Title: Science and Solutions Intern
Location: Washington, DC
Hours and Compensation:
- This position requires a minimum of 10 hours per week and a maximum of 20.
- Based on the candidate’s availability, a slightly flexible schedule may be possible.
Organization Overview: The Climate Reality Project, a nonprofit organization founded by former Vice President Al Gore, is dedicated to leading a global cultural movement demanding immediate action on the climate crisis by using cutting-edge communications and grassroots strategies to educate the public about the urgency and solvability of the climate crisis.
Description: The Science and Solutions team is looking for an intern who will be part of a campaign to make the general public aware of climate change science, impacts and the push for clean energy solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Researching climate and energy related issues.
- Summarizing reports, briefings, and hearings.
- Preparing support materials for the Climate Reality Leadership Corps.
- Preparing support materials for Climate Reality’s annual flagship event – “24 Hours of Reality.”
- Daily curation of Reality Drop website, including deleting inappropriate articles, reviewing and categorizing relevant climate news articles.
- Providing administrative help to the team, as needed.
Qualifications:
- A strong interest in and educational background related to climate change and energy.
- Excellent analytical research skills, strong written and oral communications skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and assignments.
