Responsibilities: AWS Truepower is a rapidly growing industry leader in the field of renewable energy consulting and currently seeks an intern to support our growing domestic and international wind resource assessment and wind energy project planning activities. Specific duties will include assisting with weekly monitoring of meteorological data transmitted from remote towers, monthly validation and reporting of wind data collected by developers at prospective wind project sites, and analysis of climatological data to assess the viability of proposed sites for wind development.
Qualifications: Pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Environmental Studies, Geography, or related field.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with large datasets, have basic statistical knowledge, apply and enforce company quality-control standards, and be able to assist meteorology and modeling staff in meeting deadlines. Capabilities in Geographic Information Systems are also preferred. The candidate should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
