Position Title: Water Quality Data Intern
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Dates and compensation: The position requires up to 37.5 hours Monday through Friday; $11.22 – $14.28 (per hour)

Description: The MWRA Environmental Quality Department is seeking a Harbor Water Quality Data Intern to provide technical support to MWRA’s harbor monitoring and NPDES projects. Works under the supervision of a Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
– Conduct literature searches in water quality monitoring and laboratory methods
– Assist in review and entry of harbor monitoring data.
– Review and prepare harbor and beach water quality data for entry into MWRA’s Oracle database.
– Assist in developing and posting harbor water quality factsheets on MWRA’s website.
– Graphical analysis of harbor data.
– Assist with preparation and submission of reports on wastewater quality
– Test and evaluate data reporting applications.
Qualifications:
– College science or engineering major.
– Proficiency with Microsoft Access and Excel and working knowledge of Crystal Reports preferred. Experience with relational database management systems strongly preferred.
– Some familiarity with statistics and GIS preferred.
– Ability to learn software for putting results on internet.
– Good communication skills required.
