Position Title: Energy Regulatory Analysis Intern

Description: NREL’s Strategic Energy Analysis Center has an immediate opening for a student intern to assist energy analysts in developing federal and state-level regulatory roadmaps for hydropower permitting in the United States.
Responsibilities: The intern will work with staff in the Technology Systems & Sustainability Group to create high quality, instructional, and detail-oriented flowcharts of the regulatory process. Typical tasks may include:
– Research regulations (both statutory and administrative) related to hydropower permitting.
– Develop detailed flow charts, supporting textual documents, and regulatory process timelines for developers.
– Consult with and interview state and federal regulatory agency personnel.
Qualifications: Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree granting program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution.
Internship period cannot exceed 12 months past graduation.
Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
