Organization description: VAEIC promotes policies that support open markets for clean and secure advanced energy technologies in order to create jobs and position Virginia as a magnet for talent and innovation in the advanced energy sector. VAEIC represents the leading clean, advanced energy technologies with an economic interest in Virginia and a passion for a sustainable future. Utilizing our coalition’s commercial and political strength and deploying our collective capabilities, we are building an inexorable momentum that will – over time – enable a transformation of the Virginia energy landscape.
One year since inception, VAEIC has achieved very significant success in the following areas: political, legislative, policy and communications. VAEIC predecessor, the Virginia Advanced Energy Industries PAC, i) raised over $85 thousand; ii) hosted and funded a significant fundraiser for candidate McAuliffe; iii) conducted a broad media campaign including videos and OpEds from Virginia advanced energy business leaders; and iv) began the process of building a strong coalition. After Governor McAuliffe’s election, we transitioned Virginia Advanced Energy Industries to function as a trade group and a platform for policy education, coordination and advocacy.
