Description: The Climate Reality Project, a nonprofit organization founded by former Vice President Al Gore, is offering a full-time position for a Live Earth Partnerships Manager. This position will play an integral role in a fast-paced organization that combines strategic campaigns and cutting-edge communications to win concrete victories on the path to solving the climate crisis.

The Live Earth Partnerships Manager is responsible for the organization’s Live Earth concert outreach and promotion and for supporting efforts to establish and maintain relationships with outside partners including the private sector, non-governmental organizations, grassroots coalitions, governments, and other groups.

Climate Reality has offices in Washington, D.C. and Boulder, Colorado. The location of this position is in the DC office.

Responsibilities: Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Cultivating and coordinating new and existing partners, relationships, and logistics as it relates to Live Earth concert promotion.
  • Developing new partnerships with organizations, associations, public and private sector institutions and other stakeholders globally in support of Live Earth, as well as Climate Reality’s initiatives around combatting climate change.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Strategic Partnerships to develop an effective Live Earth partnership strategy for the organization that outlines best partner engagement opportunities over short-term and long-term timelines.
  • Supporting outreach to existing and new Climate Reality partners and supporters to foster strong long-term relations and partnerships.
  • Managing and fielding phone calls and emails regarding potential partnerships.
  • Helping to or developing, evaluating and making recommendations on proposals for potential partnerships.
  • Liaising with other departments to stay up-to-date on Climate Reality’s outreach efforts and overall work.
  • Serving as surrogate at events and meetings on behalf of Climate Reality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, marketing, or communications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in international campaign planning and/or concert promotion.
  • Personal commitment to the organization’s mission and demonstrated knowledge of climate and environmental issues.
  • Excellent writing, editing, interpersonal and oral communications skills.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
  • Experience in engaging diverse constituencies.
  • Strong customer service skills, in person, over the phone and in writing.
  • Knowledge of relationship management systems. Salesforce experience a plus.
  • Ability to synthesize information and communicate it to different audiences with different levels of content.
  • Ability to develop, maintain and enjoy effective working relationships with people from a variety of organizations and with a wide variety of functional expertise.
  • Team player.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%-50% of the time.
  • Demonstrable proposal writing experience.
  • Proven ability to think outside the box to develop innovative partner and external engagement strategy ideas.
  • Previous experience working on campaign initiatives.
