Position Title: Finance and Policy Intern
Location: Washington, DC
Dates and compensation: 35 hours/week; The internship will be paid with salary commensurate with experience.

Description: The Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) is seeking a smart, self-motivated intern to work with our Energy Efficiency Finance and Building Energy Performance Policy teams. The internship is expected to start in April 2015 and will last from three to six months. This internship is full-time but will consider strong candidates on a part-time schedule. Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on new developments in energy efficiency finance
- Assist in creating commercial and residential green valuation case studies
- Help organize training and industry events related to commercial green appraisal
- Conduct research on progressive building energy policies, data resulting from newly implemented policies, and the activities of key players
- Organize written educational pieces (e.g. case studies, papers, model policies, etc.) to make them more accessible and more readily adopted by public and private sector stakeholders
- Assist in developing educational thought-leadership pieces on building energy policy
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings/calls, building IMT’s contact list, etc.
Requirements:
- Advanced undergraduate or graduate student with experience in finance, policy, real estate, economics, data analysis, or related fields
- Interest in energy efficiency, green buildings, and mitigating climate change
- Ability to perform self-directed research
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with phone surveys and comfort speaking with external stakeholders by phone
