Position Title: Intern
Location: Billings, Montana
Dates and compensation: The interns will receive a stipend of $320 per week for up to 12 weeks. We are interested in at least three month internships for the summer months in 2015.

Description: The internships will provide an excellent opportunity to be involved in federal, state and local public policy decisions within the context of a rural, community‑based organization, and to learn about community organizing, advocacy, and research. Our current priorities are our Campaign for Clean Energy and Responsible Development,which works to reduce the impacts of oil and gas, coal, and uranium development on public and private land, air, and water, and promotes the sustainable production and use of renewable energy; and our Farm to Market Sustainability Project, which seeks safe food policies and economic justice in agricultural markets, promotes local food policies, and opposes animal factories.
Responsibilities: The internships will support WORC’s program activities. Responsibilities of the Billings interns will include researching and writing on our priority issue areas, writing and editing fact sheets and action alerts, and assisting with other publications and tasks.
Qualifications: Strong writing, research and communications skills; a commitment to family‑farm agriculture, environmental protection and grassroots organizing; and a familiarity with Windows computers and software are required. Candidates must possess excellent organizational skills and enjoy striving to achieve high standards in a hardworking, small office environment. WORC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
