Position Title: Energy Program 2015 Summer Fellow
Location: Oakland, California
Dates and compensation: June 1 – August 7 (10 weeks); 20 hours/week (part-time); $12.50-15/hour

Description: The 2015 Summer Energy Fellow will work with Energy Program staff to research the 30 top hydraulic fracturing companies for the 2015 Disclosing the Facts Scorecard report. The Fellow will conduct research on coal-fired utilities and other energy companies to assist corporate engagement activities, and draft memos on issues such as fugitive methane, stranded fossil fuel assets, and more. The Fellow will gain insight into advocacy, corporate social responsibility, energy and power issues, and utilize extensive research and writing skills.
Qualifications:
-Background in energy and/ or finance and/ or sustainable finance preferred.
– Passion for climate protection. – Ability to read and summarize financial statements required.
– Excellent research, data analysis, data synthesis, writing, and communication skills.
– Proficiency with internet research, reviewing reports, and assimilating detailed information.
– Detail oriented, willing to complete tedious tasks as needed.
– Organized, good time management, strong follow through.
– Upbeat attitude, persistent/ not easily discouraged/ voices concerns promptly.
– Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word, and Excel.
– Preference for current graduate students who will not be jobseeking over summer.
– This role will require research and writing tasks that arise on an as-needed basis. The office is fast paced, and priorities can change quickly. As such, the tasks and scope of this role may fluctuate. We seek a candidate who is comfortable with ambiguity, and works efficiently in fluid circumstances
