Position Title: Communications Coordinator

Description: The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy – a regional, nonprofit environmental advocacy organization that promotes responsible energy choices to solve global warming problems – seeks a highly motivated, organized and creative individual to serve as Communications Coordinator. This position is full-time and will be based in one of SACE’s three offices (Atlanta, Ga., Asheville, N.C. or Knoxville, Tenn.).
Responsibilities
- Manage the organization’s social media platforms (including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Instagram, Youtube)
- Create engaging content, including graphics and videos, for organizational print and virtual media
- Coordinate with SACE staff on website and blog content
- Conduct research on potential avenues for organization’s online growth
- Provide support to Director of Policy & Communications for all media interactions including earned media, tele-press conferences, etc
- Archive media hits monthly and circulate to relevant staff
- Format and send all electronic communications (including Action Alerts, e-newsletters, Save the Dates) to supporters, members, and donors
Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of professional experience; Bachelor’s degree required – in a relevant field of study is desirable
- A solid understanding of traditional, digital and social media platforms
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as time-management, creative thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams; ability to take intiative
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
- Proficiency with HTML, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
- A commitment to the mission of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy
The ideal candidate will also have previous work experience with WordPress, iMovie, and some form of email platform (Mailchimp, etc.), or be willing and able to learn new editing platforms quickly.
