Description: EDF offers internships and fellowships for students and recent graduates in a variety of programs and departments throughout the organization. The ultimate goal of our internship and fellowship program is to provide high-quality experiences (including relevant projects and opportunities for networking) that form the foundation for any individual who is serious about pursuing an environmental career.
Act as a front line researcher providing documents and analysis for expert witnesses to use in testimony in a range of Public Utility Commission Proceedings.
Responsibilities:
Investigate clean energy activities in other states.
Research the impact on water conservation and jobs from creating markets for clean distributed energy resources.
Research how distributed energy resources can help balance the electricity system as it moves to 50% renewables in 2030.
Help build coalitions, particularly with firms advancing efficiency and clean distributed generation.
Conduct research on utility efforts to promote or block clean energy.
Analyse policy proceedings and final decisions and determine what if any carbon savings can be attributed to them.
Where possible find interesting articles to blog about so as to increase the visibility of of the program.
Qualifications:
Good understanding of the electricity industry and energy politics.
Excellent research skills
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to find telling anecdotes and write well
Knowledge of social media opportunities
