Position Title: Wetlands Intern
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Dates and compensation: $19.00 Hourly; This is a part time (25 hours a week) opportunity located in Boston with some fieldwork/travel. Anticipated duration of the internship is June through October 2015.

Description: The Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management seeks a motivated individual to assist the Coastal Habitat team on a variety of projects this summer with a focus on coastal wetlands. Applicants must be recent graduates with an advanced degree or be in the process of attaining a graduate degree in marine biology, environmental science, ecology, or similar field. Fieldwork experience and knowledge of wetland science, botany, and/or marine species of the northwest Atlantic is preferred.
Responsibilities: The Office of Coastal Zone Management seeks a motivated individual to assist with projects of the Coastal Habitat and Water Quality team including wetlands sampling and assessment.
Qualifications:
- Must have recently completed or be currently enrolled in a graduate program in marine. biology, environmental science, botany, ecology, or similar field.
- Enthusiasm for outdoor work in salt marshes and other wetlands.
- Familiarity with invertebrate and/or plant species identification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, works well independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work outside in potentially rough terrain during irregular hours.
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
