Description: The Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP) is seeking to engage an experienced Financial/Budget Analyst in our DC office.

Since 1985, CCAP has been a recognized world leader in climate and air quality policy. CCAP helps policymakers around the world to develop, promote and implement innovative, market-based solutions to major climate, air quality and energy problems that balance both environmental and economic interests.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis (50%)

  • Prepare monthly forecast of expenses and ongoing estimation of the spend down plan for each grant and present to senior management.
  • Project staff allocations (in coordination with Directors)
  • Allocate expenditures to programs (in consultation with Accounting)
  • Issue periodic projection of expenses for cash flow planning
  • Prepare the annual organizational budget and present to senior management
  • Prepare budgets for grant proposals including close coordination with Policy staff, estimating negotiated rates (when appropriate), and allocating indirect expenses
  • Various ad-hoc financial analytics—identifying funding gaps, cost savings, trend analyses

Contract Administration (20%)

  • Manage the process of preparing, approving, renewing and keeping track of consulting agreements
  • Receive and allocate invoices from consultants

Financial Analysis (30%)

  • Support the quantitative analyses for CCAP’s climate policy work
  • Create financial models estimating NPVs, IRRs and abatement costs, as well as conduct sensibility analysis for various scenarios
  • Draft reports presenting the assumptions, methodology, and results of the financial analyses

Expected salary range is $50,000-$60,000, commensurate with experience

Qualifications:

  • BS Finance or Accounting required, MBA a plus
  • 2-4 years relevant work experience in advanced MS Excel required
  • Experience creating financial models and conducting financial evaluations for business cases
  • Experience with foreign currency and FX a plus
