Position Title: Energy Associate Project Director

Location: The location for this position is negotiable though San Francisco, Sacramento, or Los Angeles, California (CA) are preferred.

Description: The Nature Conservancy is providing leadership through science, policy and place-based expertise to create approaches for energy development that protect the natural resources on which both people and wildlife depend. The Energy Program of The Nature Conservancy’s California Chapter is focused on developing innovative solutions to challenges such as siting of energy facilities, protecting resilient and connected landscapes for wildlife, and transitioning to a low carbon electricity system. The Energy Associate Project Director, with the guidance of the Director of the California Energy Program (Director), works with stakeholders, agencies, and a multi-disciplinary Conservancy team to advance the Conservancy’s strategy to provide solutions for California’s energy future that protect and benefit nature.

The location for this position is negotiable though San Francisco, Sacramento, or Los Angeles, California (CA) are preferred.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree and 5 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including staffing, workloads and finances under deadlines.
  • Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives and managing performance.
  • Experience developing partnerships (partners, community, government.
