Position Title: Project Manager, Partnership for Ag Resource Management

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Description: New project management position available with an independent non-profit organization working to improve sustainability in agriculture and communities through Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and other best practices. Primary responsibilities will be managing our agricultural programs in the Great Lakes Basin, building and maintaining strong relationships with both public and private partners. The ideal candidate will possess experience in agriculture and IPM with a detailed understanding of the ag retail industry.

Responsibilities:

Manage our Partnership for Ag Resource Management project, www.partnershipfarm.org, including establishing and meeting objectives, timelines and budgets; and managing outreach, partner support, and reporting to funders and collaborators.

Lead development and marketing for the Institute’s agricultural programs working with ag retailers, growers, and other public and private stakeholders.

Establish and maintain productive working relationships with partners.

Establish and implement sustainable fundraising strategies.

Participate in strategic planning.

Supervise project team.

Maintain a working knowledge of challenges, opportunities and trends in agriculture stewardship and the ag retail industry.

Represent the program to agencies, organizations and the general public.

Lead structured development of program expansion into additional watersheds and sustainability sectors.

Report to director.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree or above in agricultural science or a related field with management-level experience. Will consider professional experience in lieu of post-graduate education. Experience in ag retail a plus.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, networking, outreach and decision-making skills. Experience managing successful outreach/marketing efforts a plus.

Highly motivated and self-directed.

Demonstrated commitment to environmental stewardship.

Ability to work creatively and adaptively to achieve end goals.
