Fellowship opportunities with fall deadlines

Office of National Scholarships (ONS)

The following fall competitions do not require nomination or
institutional endorsement. ONS is happy to advise students, read
statements, review applications at any point in the application process:

Fellowships

The Jacob K. Javits Fellowship for graduate study in the arts,
humanities and social sciences.  Application is typically due around
October 1 (funding the following fall): seniors & 1st year grad students
in terminal degree programs eligible to apply.  2011 application becomes
available in August.

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.  Application is typically
due mid-November (funding for the following fall):  seniors, 1st & 2nd
year grad students eligible.  2011 application becomes available in
August.

Science, Mathematics & Research for Transformation (SMART).
Ugrad and Grad scholarships for STEM students – service/job requirement
in defense laboratory.  2011 application becomes available in August —
Due December 1, 2011.

EPA STAR Graduate Fellowships for graduate studies in
environmental science.  Application is typically due in early November.
2011 application becomes available in August (pending Federal funding).
