Rock the Earth (RtE), is an exciting environmental advocacy organization that works on issues important to musical artists and their fans. Rock the Earth is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit, national public interest environmental organization dedicated to protecting and defending America’s natural resources through partnerships with the music industry. We act as advocates to ensure the existence of a sustainable and healthy environment for all and represent those individuals and communities whose environment or natural surroundings are directly and adversely affected by others. Since 2004, Rock the Earth has been serving the environmental needs of the music industry with a 25-person Volunteer Staff, a full-time, paid Executive Director and part-time, paid Office Manager.

We are seeking a Corporate Sponsorship Intern to assist with the following:

– In coordination with the Executive Director and Development Committee, develop a corporate sponsorship strategy;
– Assist in creation of corporate sponsorship materials;
– Research and identify potential sponsors;
– Contact potential sponsors to make initial introduction of RtE and identify appropriate decision-maker within company;
– Vet potential corporate sponsors, research and tailor materials to their philanthropy and sponsorship interests;
– Set up meetings for Executive Director to meet either in person or by phone with appropriate corporate sponsorship decision-makers in company;
– Work with the Executive Director, Development Committee and corporate sponsors to implement corporate sponsorship programs

Previous experience in fundraising and corporate sponsorship requests and research is desirable but not required. Must have a clear speaking voice and be comfortable in speaking with people over the phone.

Please be willing to commit a minimum of 10-15 hours per month. This position can be worked from your home and will require the use of a personal phone and computer. Small monthly stipend available to cover phone expenses.
