Outreach and Education Manager
Position Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
• Manage Outreach Specialists, Information Specialist and Education Coordinator and ensure performance expectations are met through annual reviews and ongoing feedback.
• Responsible for selecting candidates and interviewing potential new staff within the department
• Ensure Outreach Specialists, Information Specialist and Education Coordinator are properly trained, equipped, and supported to complete their job responsibilities
• Develop relationships with key business and community leaders for current and future partnerships
• Responsible to develop Outreach and Education budgets and work to keep costs within the budget
• Propose and implement changes to the organization’s outreach and education practices that will improve the quality of outreach and education provided
• Develop and carryout strategies to retain/increase enrollments in New England GreenStart/New England Wind Fund (as part of community campaigns or other CET opportunities)
• Manage and review data submitted as a result of outreach activities. Ensure feedback goes to the relevant staff members
• Identify outreach opportunities that will help the Center for EcoTechnology achieve its mission and target identified groups
• Develop outreach and marketing strategies (web, press releases, materials, electronic)
• Participate in proposal writing to obtain future outreach opportunities
• Ensure that all outreach and educational materials are maintained and improved as needed over time
• Participate in grassroots groups and community events
• Foster a positive and productive work environment for the Outreach and Education department
Education and Experience Requirements:
• College degree in communications, environmental/social sciences or related field
• Minimum 3 years management/supervisory experience
• Minimum 2 years marketing/outreach experience

• Experience with or strong interest in education, energy efficiency, renewable energy,
• Interest in interacting with various populations: residents, businesses, community volunteers, public officials, students, teachers, media
• Maintain strict privacy of any confidential personnel, fiscal, customer and internal organizational information for which access is required in order to perform assigned duties.
This is a full-time salaried position with benefits located in our Northampton office. Evening and weekend work may be needed. The Center for EcoTechnology offers competitive pay rates and a comprehensive health plan which pays approximately 60% of the individual’s health insurance costs. New employees are eligible for dental insurance; accrue 10 days of paid vacation leave per year, 9 sick days and offers 12 paid holidays.
