The main campaigns you could be working on is the city-wide campaign to preserve all community gardens
We’re looking for dedicated, self-motivated, holistic and progressive individuals to assist us with our summer activism and advocacy. Internships will involve working with our team in multiple capacities including: organizing, environmental & social justice education, advocacy and outreach, policy research, fundraising and more. Candidate(s) should be prepared to take ownership of projects to which s/he is assigned and be accountable for deliverables.
The main campaign you will be working on is the city-wide effort to preserve all community gardens. We mean all, not bulldozing any.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, think critically and a high level of flexibility are all requisite. This is a great opportunity for people who are interested in developing or have existing knowledge/skills in the following areas: environmental science, urban planning, GIS mapping, fundraising, website development, social networking, working with youth, public health, policy, education, organizing, social and environmental justice movements.

Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher. Working Knowledge of Photoshop is a plus. Experience and knowledge of community organizing and city politics is beneficial. Bilingual (English/Spanish) individuals are encouraged to apply.
