Description

The internship position offers a unique opportunity for recently graduated students and current graduate students to get on-the-job learning experience in the Philanthropic field. The position involves working one on one with staff members, field experience with community non-profits, possible opportunities to conduct site visits and researching diverse nonprofit organizations.

The Program Associate Intern provides project-related and administrative support to program staff, working in close collaboration with the Program Officer. The Associate’s responsibilities generally fall into these categories: 1.) program and grants administration, 2.) research, 3.) communications, and 4.) foundation-wide responsibilities.

We are specifically looking for an individual who is seeking to advance his/her skills and experience in the non-profit arena and who lives or has housing options within commuting distance of Mount Kisco, NY.

The intern will learn about various program areas as well as computer and web based projects. The Foundation welcomes candidates who have recently graduated from college or post-graduate programs and part-time graduate students. This is a 6- month position, with possible renewal for up to one year. The internship is paid with health and dental benefits.

In addition to the above mentioned responsibilities, the Intern will be involved in working with community housing organizations to research, develop and implement Mortgage Modification and Affordable Housing Programs. The program is a collaborative effort with community housing organizations and banks to fast track the mortgage modification process and help homeowners to find a solution to prevent them from losing their homes.

Qualifications
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications, and Google Documents.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and complete tasks on time.
• Resourceful, proactive, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks without direct supervision.
• Positive attitude, good sense of humor, and a commitment to contributing to a positive work environment.
• Possess the ability to interact with people from all walks of life with poise and professionalism.
• College Degree required and Graduate degree a plus.
• Majors in Public Policy, Community Development and Business a plus.
